A combination of 3D modeling and supervisory control yields organization and analysis cost savings
BME Systems doubled the number of fermentation units that could be analyzed by an industrial mass spectrometer using valves to multiplex off-gas streams that could be sampled at a lower rate. The valve sets, mass spectrometer and data routing are controlled by an existing SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system with code additions.
This solution was implemented at a third of the cost and half the space of an additional mass spectrometer.
